Progress and Updates at Camp Mozumdar
Exciting changes and improvements are happening at Camp Mozumdar! Here’s the latest update on our ongoing projects and developments.
Remodeling the Manager’s Cabin Basement
The remodeling work on the manager’s cabin basement has proven more challenging than anticipated, leading to delays. However, we are pushing forward, and the project is now expected to be completed by November.
Replacing the Camp Tractor
Our long-standing tractor has reached the end of its road. Despite numerous repair attempts, fixing one issue often leads to another. It’s clear that the best path forward is to purchase a used tractor in better condition. This change will help us maintain and improve the camp more efficiently.
Seedlings for Camp Landscaping
In preparation for landscaping, small trees growing in unsuitable locations are being carefully dug up, potted, and raised as seedlings. As this process continues, we’re excited about transforming the campgrounds into an even more beautiful and serene space.
Reliable Water Supply System
The new traditional water supply system is working exceptionally well, bringing much-needed peace of mind.
Unlike the old system, which caused constant worry, the new system is reliable and easy to maintain.
We’re excited to announce that soon, church members will be able to stay overnight at the cabin and fully enjoy the camp’s serene surroundings.
Temple Basement Flooring Replacement
Hurricane Hilary in August brought significant water damage to the temple’s basement, soaking the wooden flooring.
The damaged flooring has been removed.
New vinyl flooring, which is waterproof and better suited to potential flooding issues, has been delivered and will be installed soon.
We are grateful for the ongoing support and effort from everyone who contributes to the development and care of Camp Mozumdar. Each step forward brings us closer to a fully restored and welcoming space for everyone to enjoy.
Warm regards,
The Camp Mozumdar Team
